GOLF OR FISHING ANYONE?

IRONWOOD HILLS GOLF COURSE: This rustic 9 –hole layout is among the hidden surprises of Hawaii golf, set in Molokai’s lush central highlands. It is not far from the cliffs overlooking the Kalaupapa peninsula. Built by the Del Monte Corporation for its pineapple workers in 1928 Ironwood Hills is today a challenging test of golf, with its wide kukuya grass fairways framed by tall stands of pine, ironwood and eucalyptus. You show up at the Ironwood Hills Golf Course but no one's around to give you a tee time or take your $14 (no, we didn't leave off a zero). No problem, bradda- a sign tells you to just go ahead and start playing, you can pay later. Located in Kale, Molokai Call: 808-567-6000
